Clinical Supervision & Training

For Masters, PhD, and Post-Doc Psychologist and Psychological Associate Candidates

Dr. Stephens will be offering Clinical/Therapy supervision positions to Clinical Psychology students and individuals in the process of registering with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario, for supervised clinical practice (i.e., late Master’s, Doctoral and Post Doctoral level students).

Supervision is available for clinical students who share our passion to work with children, adolescents and adults with Neurodiversity, where you will learn how to clinically observe, acknowledge and differntially diagnose neurodevelopmental disorders, well beyond checklists and questionnaires.  You will also develop a well informed understanding of how you can effectively support the individual person through developing their own unique strengths and apply their abilities to improve relationships, develop friendships, be more effective with collegial/business relationships, attain personal, academic and career goals, experience less anxiety and stress managing the expectations of everyday life, and gain greater self understanding, awareness and confidence.

Supervision may also involve conducting assessments: psychoeducational (i.e., children, adolescents and adults) and school neuropsychological assessments (related to Neurodevelopmental Disorders), Clinical Diagnostic Assessments (Tourette's Syndrome, Autism spectrum disorder, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Anxiety/Depression/OCD) or personality assessments.

Supervision for therapy typically involves training in evidence-based modalities with elements of: Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), ACT (Acceptance and Committment Therapy), Emotion focused therapy (EFT), Child-centered play therapy, Interpersonal Therapy as well as Family Systems Therapy, in individualized integrated models.
