As a neurodiversity focussed clinic, we are often asked to help improve communication and relationship skills for neurodiverse individuals with a neurodiverse or neurotypical partner. We are well versed in the differences between male and female presentations of neurodevelopmental disorders, and the challenges often associated with helping eachother understand: needing time to ones self to "reground" or "recharge" prior to interacting after a busy day, helping to read "between the lines" during conversations which may seem parcimonious to one partner and fully adequate to the other partner; understanding how one partner may have very different ways and styles of expressing their love and affection, and how they can improve their mutual understanding of eachothers emotional language, while reducing stress and tension between eachother. Each partnership is very unique, and brings to it different strengths and challenges, however if you both are willing and motivated to improve your relationship, we can help break through some of the barriers you are experiencing and bring back a more satisfying and successful level of communication.
Work Through Tough Situations
Our family affects who we are and who we become, and the relationships and bonds formed during childhood provide strength, support and security when faced with life’s challenges.
We learn from our family, our vocabulary, our habits, our customs and rituals, how to treat others and how to view and observe the world around us.
Anyone seeking healthier, closer family relationships, and a better understanding of unique differences, can benefit from Couples/Family Therapy.
